The Working Principle Of The Video Conference Sound Console

- Aug 17, 2018-

As an audio control device in the process of enterprise video conferencing, phantom power is generally provided on the mixer. When using a condenser microphone and the microphone cable is balanced, press the phantom power switch to provide a polarized voltage to the microphone. In other cases, the phantom power should be turned off. Avoid unnecessary energy losses and additional costs, and maintain the overall maintenance of the system.

First, the basic structure and working principle of the mixer:

The mixer is an audio signal mixing and processing console that is the heart of the audio processing system. The mixer consists of an input, a bus, and an output section, where the bus section links the input and output sections. The process of processing the signal by the mixer is as follows: the audio signal enters the mixer from the microphone or line input, and after gain adjustment, enters the equalizer processing to complete the sound quality compensation. Then, the attenuation ratio is used to adjust the mixing ratio, and then through the phase adjustment, the left and right channel bus bars and the group bus are entered; at the same time, the signals drawn before and after the faders enter the auxiliary bus. The mixed signal from the busbar is mixed, amplified, amplitude-amplified, isolated and amplified, and sent to the corresponding output interface.

Second, the use of the console in the enterprise video conference:

1: Pay attention to the order of the switch

The audio system switch machine must follow a certain order; otherwise it will be very easy to damage the equipment. When starting up, you should first open the front device such as the sound source, and then turn on the power amplifier device; when shutting down; you should turn off the power amplifier first, and then turn off the front device. If the audio equipment has a volume knob, the volume knob should be adjusted to the minimum before the switch is turned on, thus reducing the impact of the switch on the equipment. In addition, it is strictly forbidden to plug and unplug the signal to avoid damage to the equipment.

2: Do not operate buttons and knobs at will

There are many models of the mixer, the channel type and quantity are different, and the field system connection is different, so it should be handled with caution. When the system debugging is completed, the relevant knob of the mixer is already in working state. If it is rushed to operate, it will destroy the working state of the mixer, but it will affect the effect, but it will cause silent or equipment damage.

3: Use of mixer channel gain

Each input channel of the mixer provides a gain selection button and a gain adjustment knob to control the size of the input signal. If the signal is too large, the input amplifier will be saturated, and the audio signal will be seriously distorted. If the signal is too small, the sound will be light and the signal-to-noise ratio will be reduced, which will affect the sound reinforcement effect. In the process of adjusting the gain, you first need to set the appropriate gain button, and then adjust the gain adjustment button to make it in the proper position.

4: Use of the mixer's auxiliary output knob

Each input of the mixer has an adjustment knob AUX that sets the size of the auxiliary output signal. These knobs are set to different positions depending on whether the mixer uses the auxiliary channel.

In addition, the microphone is turned off when it is no longer in use. On the one hand, avoiding the microphone picking up the peripheral interference sound, affecting the sound enhancement effect; on the other hand, since the microphone is no longer used, it is often pushed away from the speaker, its direction changes, and it is easy to generate sound feedback and whistle. This affects the normal progress of the video conference and reduces the overall experience of the conference.
