The Related Concepts Of PCM Principle

1. Sampling: A signal waveform whose amplitude changes continuously with time is extracted at a certain time interval, and a process of forming a pulse sequence that is discontinuous in time is called sampling. In digital audio technology, depending on the application, there are four more sampling frequencies: (1) 48 kHz can be used in the studio; (2) 44.1 kHz is used in video tape recorders as a digital audio recorder for conversion. The pseudo-video signal shall contain field sync and line sync signals, that is, compatible with the TV system used; (3) 44.056kHz is not the recommended frequency of AES; (4) 32kHz is only suitable for recording satellite live digital sound and DAT The format of the time is doubled.

2. Quantization: The process of converting an analog signal into a digital signal by means of rounding is quantified.

3. Encoding: The process of converting these quantized amplitudes into corresponding binary codes is called encoding.
