The Difference Between Decoder And Amplifier

- Sep 06, 2018-

There are some advanced formats in the current audio format, such as DTS, AC3, which is 5.1 channel, and must be decoded to broadcast the effect with 5.1 speakers. This makes some old amplifiers (which can only amplify the signal) not meet the requirements. To do this, you must add a decoding device in front of these old amplifiers, and then connect the old amplifiers with the decoding device. This decoding device is the decoder. If you don't listen to these advanced formats, you don't need a decoder. The decoder can only decode, cannot be amplified; general power amplifier can only be amplified, cannot be decoded; the two functions are called: digital decoding power amplifier.
