What Is the Intermodulation Distortion?

- Oct 24, 2018-

The intermodulation distortion is caused by the transistor's internal operating characteristics, which causes the waveform of the sine wave to be distorted. The existence of intermodulation distortion directly affects the sound quality of the sound. The tube amplifier has no intermodulation distortion, so in general, the transistor amplifier does not sound so soft and comfortable as the tube amplifier. If the value of the intermodulation distortion is greater than 0.1%, the sound of the amplifier will feel stiff.
