What Is the Input Sensitivity?

- Oct 24, 2018-

Input sensitivity: This is a voltage concept, indicating the signal voltage at the input when the amplifier reaches full power output. The input sensitivity voltage of a typical power amplifier is 0.775v (0dB) to 1.5v (+6dB). The higher the sensitivity voltage is, the lower the input sensitivity. Some high-quality amplifiers have low input sensitivity due to deeper negative feedback circuitry, resulting in lower distortion, wider frequency response and better sound quality.
