What Is the Equivalent Mass of the Speaker?

- Jul 18, 2018-

The equivalent mass of the speaker, also called the vibration mass, is the sum of the static mass of the speaker vibration system (the mass of the diaphragm and the voice coil itself) and the mass of the same vibration (the mass of the air layer that vibrates along with the two sides of the diaphragm).

The equivalent mass is proportional to the diameter of the speaker and inversely proportional to the resonant frequency of the speaker.
