What Is Sound Transmission Gain?

- Jun 20, 2018-

When the microphone is used in the sound reinforcement system, the amplification of the sound picked up by the microphone is an important indicator of the sound feedback whistle of the sound reinforcement system. The higher the sound transmission gain, the smaller the acoustic feedback whistle (small), the sound of the microphone is, the larger the amplification is. The calculation method is to turn the microphone volume up to the maximum (no acoustic feedback is possible), place a sound source in front of the microphone, measure the sound pressure level in the sound booster and microphone, and subtract the microphone sound pressure level from the sound pressure level in the sound field. That is, the sound transmission gain of the sound reinforcement system is obtained.
