What Is Sharpness Or Intelligibility?

- Jul 02, 2018-

Sharpness or intelligibility is the percentage of speech units heard by one or more speakers after listening to the sound system. It is customary to use the word clarity when the contextual relationship between language units is not important to the decision-making of the listener; the word intelligibility is used when the context is important. Room resolution refers to the proportion of sound energy that is beneficial in the impulse response (acoustic energy that is helpful for clarity, direct sound energy, and reflected sound energy within 50 milliseconds).
