What Is Multipath Effect?

- Jul 27, 2018-

The multipath effect refers to the case where two or more propagation paths occur in a signal between a transmitting station and a receiver in an FM (Radio Frequency) radio broadcast. Multipath propagation effects are caused by large building or mountain reflections. The receiving antenna will receive a direct signal and a reflected and delayed signal. Multipath effects can cause distortion, and when watching TV programs, the multipath propagation effect causes the image to “ghost”.
