What Is Minimum Discernible Threshold?

For any pure tone between 50 and 1000 Hz, the human ear can roughly discriminate the sound pressure level of 1 dB when the sound pressure level exceeds the audible threshold of 50 dB. Under ideal laboratory conditions, when the sound is supplied by headphones, In the mid-frequency range, the human ear can detect changes in the sound pressure level of 0.3 dB. When the frequency is 1000 Hz and the sound pressure level exceeds 40 dB, the frequency range that the human ear can detect is about 0.3%; the sound pressure level is the same, but when the frequency is lower than 1000 Hz, the human ear can detect a change of 3 Hz. The most indiscernible threshold for frequency variation of the human ear is different from whether it has been trained. It can be felt when the characteristic deviation exceeds +2 dB or more between 50 and 15000 Hz.
