What Is Jitter?

- Jul 30, 2018-

The jitter refers to the temporal change of the clock itself used for synchronization in a digital sound system. The clock may be used in an analog/digital (A/D) converter to control the time of each audio sample. However, for audio enthusiasts, it is more interesting to use the digital sound to reproduce the music, the jitter of the clock. The clock will control the time at which digital audio samples are restored to analog signals. Jitter can make the fidelity of music worse.
