What Is Intermodulation Distortion?

Intermodulation distortion refers to a signal distortion caused by a single frequency signal mixed with a certain ratio (usually 4:1) through a playback device to generate a new frequency component, which is a kind of nonlinear distortion, and the new frequency component includes two the sum and beat of each harmonic of a single audio signal and its various combinations.
