What Is Flutter Rate?

- Jun 21, 2018-

The flutter rate is the instantaneous change of the recorder's tape speed, which causes the original recorded fixed frequency to shift (called parasitic frequency modulation). This kind of recording signal parasitic noise caused by irregular movement of the tape is called jitter. The percentage of the frequency offset of the parasitic FM caused by jitter is called the jitter rate.
