What Is Fixed-value Attenuation?

- Jun 21, 2018-

Fixed-value attenuation is the fader's input signal attenuation key. The typical attenuation is -20dB. Some mixers are marked with line selection. When using the microphone input mixer, the button cannot be pressed. Otherwise, the input signal will be too weak, it will be submerged by noise, the signal to noise ratio will be reduced, and some mixers and even signals cannot be input. When using a line signal to input the mixer, you must press this button, otherwise the input signal is too strong and it will cause clipping distortion, sounds, breaks, and sound quality deterioration.
