What Is Dolby A Noise Reduction System?

- Jun 21, 2018-

The Dolby A noise reduction system divides the entire sound range into 4 segments, the first segment below 80Hz, the second segment between 80Hz and 3KHz, and the third segment from 3KHz to 9KHz. Above 9KHz, it is the fourth segment. Each segment has its own filter and compression-spreader. Four frequency band independent processing circuits do not affect each other. Each band can use different compression-expansion ratios. Not only the noise reduction effect is good, but also the use and adjustment are flexible. The disadvantages are that the circuit is complicated and expensive, and it is only suitable for use in the professional recording field.
