What Is Contact Mic?

- Jul 16, 2018-

Contact Mic is a microphone that is specifically attached to the surface of the sounding body to obtain an audio signal by sensing the mechanical vibration generated by the sounding body. Sometimes it is referred to as a "transducer mic." The biggest difference between it and the traditional microphone is that the latter mainly acquires the audio signal by sensing the air vibration caused by the change of sound pressure. Although people sometimes need to attach them to the surface of the object to confuse them because they are the same as the pressure zone microphones, in fact they are completely different, because the pressure zone microphones are fundamentally still in need of vibration from the air, a microphone that acquires an audio signal.
