Audio Interchange File Format (AIFF) is a commonly used digital audio file format that allows applications running on different platforms to share files. Originally launched by Electronic Arts in 1985, it is widely used with computers and digital instruments such as Mac, PC, and Atari. Many digital audio editing softwares can input and output AIFF files, and the Kurzweil K2000 and K2500 can also recognize AIFF so that they can exchange sample files with the computer.
