What Is Analog Simulation?

The analog simulation is based on the Roland Combined Object Sound Model (COSM) technology. COSM technology uses sophisticated software calculus to simulate the sound characteristics of various devices—the so-called analog is used to simulate an oscillator (Analog Oscillator).

The analog simulation uses advanced digital signal processing (DSP) technology to reproduce the standard waveforms of traditional Analog Synthesizers (like sawtooth, square, triangle, etc.). In addition, analog simulations can produce waveforms that are not possible with traditional analog lines, such as Super Saw waves and feedback oscillators. Simulation provides the smooth sound quality unique to analog synthesizers and incorporates advanced digital controls not found in analog synthesizers, such as stable tones, tone memory, effects processing, and MIDI control.
