What Is An Over Sampling Digital Filter?

- Jul 27, 2018-

An over sampling digital filter refers to a digital audio circuit that removes the disorganized image frequency of those audio spectra produced at multiples of the sampling frequency. An 8X oversampled filter produces 7 new samples for each input sample, increasing the sampling frequency by a factor of 8. Oversampling shifts these cluttered image frequencies to higher frequencies, making it easier to filter out.
