The Transmission and Absorption of Sound Waves

- Oct 10, 2018-

When sound waves hit an object (wall), part of the sound energy is reflected, part becomes the vibration inside the object (wall), the friction becomes hot and is consumed and absorbed, and some transmits, forming a second radiative sound.

Sound waves are hard to be reflected when they encounter hard rigid objects; objects that encounter porous objects or other sound absorbing structures are absorbed; objects that are sparse are easily transmitted.
