1. Low background noise

Halls and rooms used for sound reinforcement must have low background noise. Noise may not only come from the outside, but also may come from indoors, such as air conditioning, ventilation equipment, noise generated when the optical equipment is moving, etc., measures should be taken to reduce the noise of the listening environment as much as possible.

Excessive noise will cause the clarity and intelligibility of the electro-acoustic system to decrease, making it difficult to achieve the desired sound quality of the audio system. Increasing the output power of the device to increase the output sound pressure level may cause acoustic feedback and the system will not work stably. .

Indoor noise control issues must be fully considered during construction and renovation to take the necessary sound insulation measures. The background noise of a typical theater is 25 to 30 dB, the lecture hall is 30 to 35 dB, and the stadium is 47 to 56 dB.

2. With a uniform and reasonable sound pressure level

It is required that the sound pressure level in the room reaches a certain value according to different types of sound reinforcement.

Specifically, the music amplification should reach an average sound pressure level of 80 to 85 dB, the language amplification is 70 to 75 dB, the background music is 60 to 70 dB, and the unevenness should be controlled within ±4 dB. This requires that the electric sound reinforcement system should have sufficient output power and sound gain, the indoor sound field should be evenly diffused, and the near-reflected sound should be fully and reasonably utilized. The radiation characteristics and placement position of the speaker should be reasonably selected.

3. To ensure clarity

The sound reinforcement system should ensure the clarity of the sound and the intelligibility of the language. This requirement is particularly important in the context of speech amplification. It is generally believed that the maximum consonant loss rate allowed is no more than 15%. For halls that focus on music reproduction or sound reinforcement, the indicator can be relaxed appropriately, but requires better sound.

4. To ensure that the system can work stably

When the sound system reaches the specified average sound pressure level, there should be sufficient sound feedback stability margin to ensure that the system will not cause self-excited howling due to feedback.

5. The sound image is basically the same as the image

A successful sound reinforcement system should ensure that the sound image is consistent with the image, so that the audience does not notice the presence of the sound reinforcement device, as if it is directly heard from the stage.

6. Good transmission frequency and low distortion

The sound system should have a wide and flat frequency response and low distortion.
