Techniques and Methods of Multichannel Recording

- Aug 07, 2018-

With the improvement of modern recording technology, recording equipment has also developed rapidly. The recorder evolved from mono to multi-channel. At present, China's recorders have developed to 4/8/16/24/48 and other multi-channels. With the advent of multi-track recorders, multi-channel recording technology has emerged. Due to the advantages of multi-channel recording technology, it has been widely used in the recording of radio, television, and recording.

There are two ways to record multichannel:

1. Multi-channel simultaneous track recording: firstly put different sound sources, and the same way on the multi-channel tape on the different sound tracks, and then make the program needed for synthesis. Specifically, the first is to divide the band into several groups for recording, and arrange them in appropriate positions in the studio according to the grouping situation. Each group has its own dedicated microphone.

2. Multi-channel staging track recording: record the source signal on different channels of the multi-track tape at different times. This is the staged track recording. The difference between it and the simultaneous track recording is that the recording is performed at different times, while the simultaneous tracking is performed at the same time.
