Sound Card Debugging Technology

1. Sound card debugging technology----Mono

Mono is a relatively primitive form of sound reproduction, and early sound cards were more common. When playing back mono information through two speakers, we can clearly feel that the sound is transmitted from the middle of the two speakers to our ears. This lack of positional recording is naturally backward with the current look, but it is already a very advanced technology when the sound card has just started.

2. Sound card debugging technology --- Stereo

Mono lacks positional positioning of the sound, and stereo technology completely changes the situation. The sound is assigned to two separate channels during recording, resulting in good sound localization. This technique is especially useful in music appreciation, where the listener can clearly distinguish the direction in which the various instruments come from, making the music more imaginative and closer to the spot.

3. Sound card debugging technology --- Prospective stereo

The basic concept of a quasi-stereo sound card is to use mono when recording sound, and sometimes the sound is stereo, sometimes mono. Sound cards using this technology have also been popular in the market for some time, but now they have disappeared.

4. Sound card debugging technology --- Four-channel surround

People's desires are endless. Although the stereo meets the requirements of people's experience of left and right channel position, with the further development of technology, people gradually find that the two channels have been unable to meet our needs. Thanks to the emergence of PCI sound cards, many new technologies have been introduced, among which the most rapid three-dimensional sound effects have been developed. The main purpose of 3D sound is to bring people a virtual sound environment, through a special HRTF technology to create a realistic sound field, in order to obtain better game sound effects and sound field positioning. To achieve good results, relying on only two speakers is not enough, so the stereo technology is stretched in front of the three-dimensional sound, but the four-channel surround audio technology solves this problem well.

The four-channel surround defines four pronunciation points: front left, front right, rear left, rear right, and the listener is surrounded by this. It is also recommended to add a subwoofer to enhance the playback of low frequency signals (this is why the 4.1 channel speaker system is now popular). As far as the overall effect is concerned, the four-channel system can bring the sound surround from multiple different directions to the listener, and can obtain the listening experience in various environments, giving the user a new experience. Nowadays, four-channel technology has been widely integrated into the design of various medium and high-quality sound cards, which has become the mainstream trend in the future.

5. Sound card debugging technology --- 5.1 channel

5.1 channel has been widely used in various traditional theaters and home theaters. Some well-known sound recording compression formats, such as Dolby Digital and DTS, are based on 5.1 sound system. The “.1” channel is a specially designed subwoofer channel that produces subwoofers with a frequency response range of 20 to 120 Hz. In fact, the 5.1 sound system comes from 4.1 surround, except that it adds a center unit. This center unit is responsible for transmitting sound signals below 80 Hz. It is beneficial to enhance the human voice when watching the movie, and concentrate the dialogue in the middle of the entire sound field to increase the overall effect. I believe that every friend who has really experienced the Dolby AC-3 sound will be impressed by the 5.1 channel.
