How Does the Video Conference Select the Camera and Microphone?

- Nov 07, 2018-

First, the choice of camera

(1) The lens

The lens is an important part of the camera, and the photosensitive elements of the camera can be divided into CCD and CMOS. CCD (Charge Coupled Device) is a high-end technology component used in photographic imaging. CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) is used in products with lower image quality. Manufacturing costs are lower than CCD, and power consumption is much lower. This is why many products using USB interfaces do not require external power supply. At present, the size of the CCD component is usually 1/3 inch or 1/4 inch. At the same resolution, it is preferable to select a larger component size.

(2) The pixel

Pixel value is an important indicator that affects the quality of the camera, and it is also an important indicator to judge its merits and demerits. The pixel values of the early products are generally around 100,000. Due to the low technical content, they are now on the verge of elimination. The mainstream products now have a pixel value of about 350,000. It is not necessary to consider pixel values blindly because the higher the pixel value, the stronger the ability of the product to parse the image. Therefore, when the camera is working, the computer needs to perform data processing. Otherwise, the delay of the image will be affected, thus affecting the transmission of the video meeting.

(3) The resolution

Resolution is the ability of the camera to resolve images. Of course, it is directly related to the quality of CCD/CMOS. Generally, it can be divided into two types: photo resolution and video resolution, which is the resolution at the time of still picture capture and the resolution at the time of dynamic picture capture. In the practical application of video conferencing, the resolution of the camera is generally higher than the resolution of the video. The types of resolutions that can be given by cameras on the market are also different, so you should pay attention when purchasing. Some resolutions refer to the interpolation resolution that these products can achieve with software, but they are distinguished from the hardware. There is still a certain gap in the ratio.

(4) The transmission speed

The video capture capability of the camera is one of the core functions of the camera. At present, the video capture of the camera is realized by software, so the processing power of the CPU is also required, because the picture requirement is directly proportional to the capture capability. Now the maximum resolution of the camera captured by the general camera is 640×480. Under this resolution, no camera can achieve the capture effect of 30 frames/second, and the picture will be beaten. More realistic is that relying on the combination of hardware and software at 320×240 resolution is likely to reach the standard rate capture indicator, so for a full video capture speed; it is only a theoretical indicator. Therefore, users should choose the right product according to their needs to achieve the desired effect of the video conference.

(5) The interface

High data transfer volume, no USB interface is not competent. USB port products have always been plug-and-play, easy to use and willing to be accepted by the majority of computer users. The USB interface not only makes the hardware detection and installation of the camera more convenient, but also the main reason is that the high speed of USB data transmission determines the application of the camera, which better breaks the bottleneck of large data transmission of image files, and makes the computer receive data more. Quickly, make the dynamic image broadcast smoother and smoother.

Second, the choice of camera

The camera needs to be used with a video capture card. The camera is the core device of the video conferencing system. According to the user's requirements, reasonable selection is very important. Nowadays, the system generally adopts a Charge Coupled Device, because it has small volume and light weight compared with the vacuum tube camera; the inertia is small; the sensitivity is high; the image uniformity is good; the impact resistance is good; the service life is long, etc. advantage.

In the conference room level application, in order to get better video effects, the camera is generally used as a video source. For video conferencing applications, cameras can be divided into two categories, one is fixed and the other is mobile. The fixed type is fixed on the desktop or the stand to capture the video image by the movement of the lens. The mobile type is also portable, and the user can select the input of the video information as he wishes.

Third, the selection of conference microphone

The conference microphone is a very important device in the conference room deployment, which has a significant effect on the sound effect of the entire system.

The choice of microphones is mainly from four aspects. First of all, the frequency response is suitable from 150Hz to 10KHz. This range basically includes vocal and general instrumental sounds. Secondly, the sensitivity should not be too high. Excessive sensitivity is likely to cause howling or loudness, which is easy to damage. Speaker, so the sensitivity is stable; third, the impedance is high and low, the high-impedance microphone has high sensitivity and is susceptible to external signal interference. Finally, it is necessary to select a microphone with directivity. Because the non-directional microphone has poor resistance to external interference, it is easy to mix into other sound sources. This microphone must be used together with the echo canceller.
