How Does Analog Audio Work?

- Nov 02, 2018-

Analog audio signals are fundamentally AC voltages, meaning that their polarity will constantly reverse. The rate of this oscillation determines the frequency of the signal, which ranges from 20 beats per second (20 Hz) to 20,000 beats per second (20 kHz), which is the hearing range of the human ear. The amplitude of the signal peak determines the volume at the time of amplification, and the combination of these two variables allows accurate reproduction of complex sound signals.
